Q. What is the Arkansas Email Network?

Q. How do I subscribe/unsubscribe to the email network?
A. To subscribe: Email emailnetwork@arumc.org and include the following information: name, lay/clergy, email address, local church and district or subscribe online by clicking here.

To unsubscribe: click on the unsubscribe link provided in every network email message or email emailnetwork@arumc.org and ask to unsubscribe.

Q. Do you post subscribers’ information on the internet?
A. Clergy information can be found on the conference website, www.arumc.org or in the Arkansas Conference Journal. We do not post lay member information due to privacy and spam issues. Information on lay members serving on conference or district committees can be located in the Journal or may be available by request. Email communications@arumc.org for lay member information requests.

Q. What type of information will be posted on the email network?
A. Prayer requests for lay and clergy members of the annual conference or their immediate family (parents, siblings, spouse, children (with permission of the individual [or parent/guardian if under age 18] for whom prayer is being requested, church events, disaster relief requests from official sources, mission trips, job openings, requests for church-related items for sale or free of charge, requests for information, services, products. The Conference reserves the right to refuse to post messages on a case by case basis.

Q. What if I have an event flyer or other attachment I’d like to be posted ?
A. The best way to share information on the email network is a simple email message with the needed information: event, date, time, location, fee, contact information (phone, email, web address). If you have an event flyer or other attachment, send it to mtaylor@arumc.org for posting on the conference website calendar, and in the weekly Enews in Review and Events Updates.

Q. How often to email network messages go out?
A. We try to “bundle” messages together where no more than two or three will go out in a day. Of course, this is based the number and type of messages we receive. Emergency requests will be sent immediately.

Q. Is there anything you won’t post on the email network?
A. Anything that is libelous, unfounded, vulgar, obscene, racist, sexist, or otherwise inappropriate in language or content. Chain emails will not be passed on. The Conference reserves the right to refuse to post messages.
