The Arkansas Conference provides a comprehensive medical coverage package for its employees with a self-funded, self-insured group plan.

Medical claims are handled locally by CoreSource, Inc. - L.R., a third-party administrator.
 
Premiums are set according to usage and are collected by the Office of Insurance and Pensions at the Arkansas Conference Ministries office.

Notice to Clergy and laity families covered under the Conference Group Insurance Plan;

 

Due to new legislation,  beginning January 1, 2011 (our plan year) dependent children to the age of 26, regardless of student or marital status, are eligible to come on our plan if they do not have employer sponsored health coverage available to them.  No pre-existing limitations for dependents to age 19.  All others will be required to provide a certificate of creditable coverage or may have pre-existing limitations  (365 day waiting period) applied;

 

A pre-existing condition is an illness or injury that existed within 180 days before the covered person’s enrollment date.  An illness or injury is considered to have existed when the covered person sought or received professional advice for that illness or injury, received medical care or treatment for that illness or injury or received medical supplies drugs or medicines for that illness or injury.

 

You are required to request enrollment.  We will be accepting enrollment requests between December 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010.  Please contact our office via phone message or email with your name, appointment and dependent information during the month of December.

 

Should you miss the deadline (sorry no exceptions) and they continue to meet all other eligibility requirements you many enroll them during Open Enrollment each September for an October 1 effective date.




Change of Address:

All Clergy who change their address, please contact either Mona Williams or Wendy Brunson Daniels to obtain change of address forms.  It is your responsibility to notify the insurance benefit officer and Coresource, Inc. of your new address in writing.  Do not assume that anyone else will do this for you!!

AMCO - Arkansas Managed Care Organization

We are happy to announce that AMCO our PPO network has partnered with Health Choice to offer additional in-network benefits to participants who use out of state providers including Methodist Healthcare Systems in Memphis, Germantown and the mid-south area.  In order to search for in-network providers please go to www.myhealthchoice.com under Online Services click Find a Provider, or Find a Facility.   In addition to applying AMCO Network discounts Methodist Healthcare Systems (facility only)provides discounts to clergy and clergy families(with or without conference insurance). 

 

Note:  In central Arkansas Baptist Health (an AMCO provider) also provides discounts to clergy & clergy families.  To receive the discount advise them you or your spouse is a United Methodist Clergy (Active or Retired).
