Conference Location & Parking
The called session will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 in Horner Hall, on the (direction) of the Hot Springs Convention Center, near the Austin Hotel. There is parking located behind the building on Church Street and on Convention Center Blvd. toward Summit Arena and the Embassy Suites. There will be shuttle vans/carts circling the parking lots to shuttle individuals to the registration area.

- Austin Hotel & Spa (closest hotel to Horner Hall), 305 Malvern Ave., 501.623,6600, $89, check in after 3:00 p.m., check out 11:00 a.m.
- Embassy Suites, 400 Convention Blvd., 501.624.3224, $139 single; $149 double, includes complimentary breakfast. Tell reservation clerk that you attending the “United Methodist Business Meeting” to receive the rate shown above.
Registration
Online registration will be open from October 1- 25. ***ONLINE REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED*** Onsite registration begins at 8:00 a.m., in the Horner Hall lobby. Registration is $10 for all lay and clergy (active and retired) delegates; guests may attend without registering.
Nursery
Free childcare is available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First UMC, Hot Springs if arranged in advance. Call Michelle Wilkins, 501.623.6668, to arrange childcare.
Refreshments
Concessions will be open from 7:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. the day of the called session.

Rules of Order for the Called Session
- The Bar of the Conference shall be the seating area of Horner Hall. Members desiring to have voice and vote must be seated within the bar. Voting members of the Arkansas Conference must be wearing a nametag.

- Who may vote on all matters before the conference today?
- Elected Lay members, Diaconal Ministers, Provisional, Associate, Local pastors (Part-time and full-time), Deacons and Elders in Full Connection, clergy from other denominations who are under appointment in the Arkansas Annual Conference.
- Who has privilege of the floor without vote?
- Student local pastors, retired local pastors, and clergy from other conferences who are under appointment in the Arkansas Annual Conference.
- Who are Guests, without Privilege of the floor and without vote?
- Alternate Lay Members who are NOT substituting for the Lay Members, and spouses who were not duly elected by their home charge conference to be the Lay Member.
- What is the procedure for speaking from the floor and voting?
- Those desiring the floor of the Conference shall be within the Bar of the Conference should walk to the microphone and wait until recognized. When recognized, state your name, local church or area of responsibility.
- Debate
- Debate on each motion or resolution shall be limited to three two-minute speeches for the motion or resolution and three two-minute speeches against the same (excluding persons rising for points of order, amendments, or final summations.)
- To vote and have your vote counted, you must:
- Be within the Bar of the Conference and be seated.
- Have your nametag where it can be read by the teller.
