Imagine Ministry Update - August 28, 2009

The Imagine Ministry team was commissioned by Bishop Charles N. Crutchfield to create a process whereby we can "re-think and re-do" the way we do church in the Arkansas Annual Conference.

The Imagine Ministry Team met August 28.  Key points of the gathering are below.

• The Imagine Ministry team will be engaged in research andinformation gathering on the following items:
• A summary profile on numbers of clergy and congregations within the annual conference. Theteam will research demographics and future trends.
• What do we need to know about congregations that serve present and futuregenerations?
• What does the Imagine Ministry Team need to know about how technology can change conference work and how technology will need to be used by congregations in order to speak to a changed mission field with younger generations?
• What does the Imagine Ministry Team need to know about the work of other conference that are also looking a missional change rather than institutional improvement?

Imagine Ministry Team Members: Bishop Charles N.Crutchfield, Jim Argue, Kathy Conley, Charles Donaldson, Rev. Susan Ledbetter, Rev. Edna Morgan, Rev. William "Bud" Reeves, Don Riggin and Rev. Mackey Yokem. Rev. Gil Rendle has been hired as a consultant to the group.
